Many thanks to Patricia for allowing us to publish her Chicago apple butter pie recipe.
To get started, please take out a large mixing bowl. Gradually stir into the bowl the homemade apple butter, lightly beaten large whole fresh egg, white pure cane sugar, white all purpose baking flour, and evaporated milk.
Once that batch of ingredients is well mixed, take out a nine inch pie pan. Line your pan with the premade single crust pie pastry.
Next pour in the apple butter filling, level it out, then sprinkle it with the fresh ground cinnamon.
You are now ready to bake this delicious pie, so place it in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 220 degrees Celsius for ten minutes. Next reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius, and bake the pie for thirty five minutes.
Let the pie cool for at least ten minutes before serving it.
Eat the pie warm with a tall glass of cold 2% milk.
